Balto – a half-wolf dog, and Boris – a male goose, live in a small town in Alaska where local people do not care much about them, they are even a nuisance to them. Steele is an idol to all sled dogs. He is the fastest and the strongest. He always wins the race. When diphtheria comes to the town, lives of children are in danger. Due to huge amounts of snow, the cure can be reached only by sleds that are pulled by dogs. Balto gets a front position thanks to his speed, but humans do not want him there, as Boris says: "Not a dog. Not a wolf. All he knows is what he's not. If only he could see what he is." But Balto and his friends, Boris, a dog called Jenna and polar bears Muk And Luk, know that a pedigree is not necessary in order to help someone.
